Surety-first specialization
Bonding is not a side line here. It shapes how we plan capacity, read contracts, and work with underwriters on behalf of contractors and businesses.
◇About AB Hurley
AB Hurley is a modern insurance and surety advisory firm — surety bonds first, alongside commercial insurance, high-net-worth personal insurance, risk management, and claims advocacy — built for proactive service and long-term client relationships.

◇ Company Overview
AB Hurley is an insurance and surety advisory firm serving businesses, business owners, and individuals with complex risk needs. Surety bonds are our leading specialty, supported by commercial insurance programs and a personal insurance practice focused on high-net-worth households.
The work is advisory rather than transactional: understanding an operation before recommending coverage, using our market and underwriting relationships on a client’s behalf, advocating through claims and renewals, and managing the program proactively as the business and the markets change.
Our leading specialty — contract, license, and permit bonds, with underwriting relationships built to grow with the business.
ExploreProperty, liability, workers' compensation, and specialty programs coordinated as one strategy.
ExploreSpecialized protection for high-value homes, excess liability, and complex personal assets.
Explore◇ Our Story
AB Hurley is a newer firm. That is deliberate — and it is the point.
The firm was not formed to become another general insurance agency. It was formed around a specific view of what the advisory experience should be: specialized rather than generalized, proactive rather than reactive, and organized around long-term relationships rather than individual transactions.
That view shaped the choices made at the start. We selected the markets where we believe we can provide meaningful value — surety first, commercial insurance for businesses with real operational complexity, and personal insurance for high-net-worth clients whose circumstances deserve more than a standard household policy. We chose depth in those areas over breadth across all of them.
It also shaped how the firm operates. Efficient processes and modern tools exist here for one reason: so our people spend less time on administration and more time understanding clients, preparing ahead of renewals and bond deadlines, and being available when something changes. Better visibility into a client’s program produces better conversations — earlier, and with more substance.
What we are building is a firm that pairs modern business practices with traditional relationship values, and that can keep evolving as our clients and the insurance and surety markets do.
◇ Why We Formed AB Hurley
We would rather be genuinely useful in a few areas than passable in all of them. Surety is our leading specialty. Commercial insurance supports sophisticated business risk. Personal insurance is deliberately focused on business owners, executives, high-value homes, and complex personal assets.
Renewal preparation, coverage reviews, bond planning, capacity discussions, exposure changes, claims involvement — the work that matters is the work that happens before a client has to ask for it.
Efficient operations and good tools exist for one reason: to give our people more time to understand clients, advise them, and stay involved. Technology supports the relationship. It does not replace it.
We are building a firm that can evolve alongside our clients and the insurance and surety markets — adding expertise deliberately, and improving how we work as we grow.
◇ What We Believe
Identify needs, changes, and potential problems before they become urgent — for renewals, bond deadlines, and exposures that shift mid-term.
Understand the business, the goals, the assets, and the exposures — not simply the policies being placed.
Develop meaningful expertise in selected markets rather than attempting to serve every possible segment.
Stay actively involved and help clients navigate insurance and surety relationships, from placement through claims.
Measure success through relationships that endure, not through individual transactions.
Continuously refine process, communication, and the client experience. The standard should move every year.
◇ Our Approach
Step 01
Learn the business, the personal exposures, the goals, and the priorities behind them.
Step 02
Evaluate risk, coverage, surety needs, market conditions, and the gaps worth closing.
Step 03
Help clients understand their options — with the reasoning behind every recommendation.
Step 04
Stay involved through placement, renewal, claims, and carrier and surety conversations.
Step 05
Keep reviewing the program as the business, the assets, and the needs change.
◇ Why AB Hurley
Bonding is not a side line here. It shapes how we plan capacity, read contracts, and work with underwriters on behalf of contractors and businesses.
Surety, commercial, personal, risk, and claims are coordinated together — so recommendations arrive coherent rather than departmental.
Every relationship has someone accountable for it. The person who structures the program is the person who answers when something changes.
Contract reads before signature, renewal strategy before the deadline, bond planning before the bid. Preparation is the service.
If your business, bonding program, or personal assets call for a more considered approach, we would welcome the conversation. First meetings are unhurried and built around your situation — not a sales pitch.
